An historical unique Grade 1 listed 18th century Fort located within forty acres of private land in a remote area of outstanding natural beauty. Situated on the tip of a little known peninsula near Caernarfon in North Wales, it guards the entrance to the Menai Straits and enjoys panoramic views across the water to Anglesey and to the Snowdonia mountain range.

Belan maintains its peaceful and tranquil atmosphere, making this seaside venue ideal for self catering accommodation in our unique holiday cottages.  

Fort Belan looks across the water to Caernarfon Castle to Snowdon and the Snowdonia mountain range. The Mountains of the Llynn Peninsula can be viewed from the Fort. We are well placed for Criccieth Castle and Portmeirion Village, close to Glynllifon Country Park and the picturesque village and Church of Llandwrog.

 Fort Belan is superbly placed within a unique area for a wide range of recreational pastimes and vocational pursuits such as walking holidays, bicycling, mountaineering, camping and music.

We are three miles from Caernafon airport which takes sightseers on pleasure flights to Snowdonia and Caernarfon Castle, the airport also have regular sightseeing flights along the Llynn peninsula to Bardsey Island and Criccieth Castle and also regular flights to Puffin island sight seeing Penrhyn Castle and Beaumaris Castle.
