
Terms & Conditions:
Fort Belan is a Grade 1 listed building. Great care must be taken at all times when walking around the Fort, particularly on the battlements or around the deep dock area. Scaling the Fort walls is strictly forbidden. Parents are solely responsible for their children whilst at the Fort.
The owners. cannot in any way be held responsible or accept any liability for persons or their property whilst using Fort Belan facilities.
Bathing. in the sea at Fort Belan is dangerous and should not be attempted. There is a safe beach nearby at Dinas Dinlle.
Nearby land is private. Walking is permitted along the sea but not in the dunes.
Fires Fireworks and Barbeques. Should never be lit until permission is obtained and details clarified with Fort Belan.
Occupancy in our accommodation may be expected as follows:
Weekly. Booking is inclusive from 4:00pm on a Saturday to 10:00 am in the following Saturday
Midweek. Booking is inclusive from 4:00pm on Monday to 10:00 am on Thursday
Weekend. booking is inclusive from 4:00pm on Friday to 2:00 pm on Sunday.
Sunday Night. On weekend bookings it may now be possible to book Sunday night and depart 10.00am Monday. This will be charged at half the pro-rata nightly rate of the booking.
Guests are welcome to stay in the grounds until 5:00 pm on the day of departure. However we would ask you to keep the inner courtyard clear having vacated the house.
Accommodation. must be left in a clean and tidy condition and all breakages and damage must be reported. Inventories are provided in each kitchen; these should be checked on departure by the guest. No accommodation must be occupied by more than the number of persons specified on the booking form except for children in cots/travel cots.
Dogs - maximum 2. Although welcome at the Fort, dogs must not be allowed to roam freely and must be supervised at all times; there are sheep and cattle grazing in the fields nearby. Any fouling is to be removed by owners whilst at the Fort.
Ball games and Bicycles. Are not allowed in the Fort Courtyard. A shed may be used to keep bicycles. They are here at your own risk.
All visitors are required to observe reasonable noise levels. At all times and to respect other guests. Noisy groups or bad language will not be tolerated.
The Causeway - Occasionally this is covered by high tides. Please do not attempt to cross under any circumstances. Phone us for assistance - contact details above.
Heating. All the houses have central-heating; all houses apart from Dock and By The Way have open fires. However please be aware that Fort Belan is over 250 years old and does not possess cavity wall insulation or benefit from double-glazing, also there is a 100 yard walk between the cottages and car park. It is wise to bring warm and windproof clothing with you, especially during the cooler months.
Lighting and communication. A torch and a mobile phone would be useful accessories.
